Privacy policy

Last updated October 15, 2026

The short version: we collect very little. If you subscribe to our email, we collect your email address so we can send it to you. We do not sell your information.

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you subscribe. The signup form and the email delivery are provided by Beehiiv. The form may also record where you came from, such as the website or link that brought you here, so we can see what is working.
  • Basic technical information. Our hosting provider may log standard details such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
  • Messages you send us, if you contact us.

Cookies and similar tools

  • Beehiiv’s signup form may store small cookies in your browser. They remember that you have subscribed or closed a form, so it does not keep appearing, and where you came from.
  • Text size. If you change the text size on a guide, the site saves your choice in your browser. It stays on your device.
  • Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google’s servers.
  • No advertising or analytics tools are in use today. If that changes, we will update this page.

How we use your information

We use your email address to send the weekly email. We use messages you send us to reply and to improve our guides.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that help run the site and the email, such as Beehiiv and our hosting provider, and only as needed to provide those services. We may also share information if the law requires it. We do not sell your information.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. Contact us and we will help.

Links to other sites

Our guides link to other websites, such as government and company pages. Their privacy practices are their own.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top.
